Read the new boater education law.It includes the time table for various age groups to meet the requirements.Boater_Safety.pdfSection 29.1-748 of the Code of Virginia states that it is unlawful for any person to operate watercraft in excess of the slowest possible speed required to maintain steerage and headway within fifty feet of docks, piers, boathouses, boat ramps, people in the water, and vessels other than personal watercraft. This law is enforced by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and is punishable as a Class 4 misdemeanor.
