Water and improving quality water in our streams, rivers and lakes takes everyone’s efforts. No one has a greater responsibility than the landowners near these bodies of water. The provisions of the Shoreline Management Plan regarding vegetative buffers are important to maintaining water quality in Leesville Lake. Other measures that help improve and maintain water quality include: silt-fencing down hill from land disturbing activities, implementation of proper drainage systems for storm water runoff from developments and implementation of best management practices such as fencing to keep livestock out of rivers and streams.
